We did not know Felicity had down syndrome until after her birth. She was born at a local hospital. The doctor talked to me just after her birth. She is a family friend and told me what she saw and why she thought Felicity had down syndrome. Felicity also had a heart issue (VSD-ventricular septal defect) which was repaired by heart surgery when she was about 4 months old. She no longer requires follow up for the heart condition but we continue to see a cardiologist every 2 years to make sure nothing else develops. Felicity has a cousin who was born 4 years after Felicity who also has down syndrome.
